Arrival in Waren

Cycle to Ankershagen. There is a museum there dedicated to Heinrich Schliemann, architect and discoverer of Troy. There is an exhibition regarding the Havel River in Kratzeburg. Cycle along the river to the Wesenberger Lake District and the town of Neustrelitz. Spend the night.
The castle gardens and Slavic village on Lake Zierker are worth seeing. The village was built as a reminder of life and work during the medieval period. Follow the Havel Waterway and cycle through Wesenberg to Lake Stechlin or to Fürstenberg. Spend the night in Neuglobsow, Fürstenberg, or nearby.
Return the the Havel River and continue south along the river and the Uckermärk Lake District to the Ziegelei Park, formerly a brickworks factory. Spend the night in Zehdenick or nearby.
Cycle through the Havel Lowlands and forest between Liebenwalde and Oranienburg. Prince of Brandenburg and Princess Henriette von Oranienburg-Nassau gave the city its name. Spend the night in Oranienburg.
There is a museum in the Baroque castle built by Prince F. Wilhelm which you may want to visit. Today’s leg of the tour takes you on quiet roads and bicycle trails, forest paths, and along the Oder-Havel-Canal to Henningsdorf and Spandau. Stay overnight in Spandau.
The historic Ascacian citadel in Spandau is well worth a visit. Cycle through the forest, Grunewald, to Wannsee. Pass the Glienicke Castle and cross the Glienicke Bridge on your way to Potsdam. Spend the night in Potsdam.
Today’s leg of the tour takes you along the Havel River to the city of Brandenburg, the oldest city in the state of Brandenburg. For centuries princes and artists have been drawn to the romantic river landscape. Spend the night in Brandenburg.
Before leaving Brandenburg, visit St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Cathedral dated back to the 12th century. The town hall in the old town, preserved parts of the city wall, and the Renaissance timber-framed house, ‘Quitzowhaus’, are also great points of interest. Cycle on quiet country roads and forest trails through the Havel valley and Havel Land Nature Park. Pass Lakes Breitling and Plau on your way to Rathenow. Spend the night in Rathenow.
Distance: approx 68 km / 42 mi
Cycle through West Havelland Nature Park to the Elbe. Admire the beautiful forest landscape and villages. Stay overnight in Havelberg.
Follow the “Bischofstour” through the Prignitz region. Visit the pilgrimage site of Bad Wilsnach and relax at Germany’s oldest moated castle.
You can visit the Cistercian museum in the village of Heiligengrabe and the 30 Year War Museum in Wottstock. Spend the night south of Lake Müritz.
Enjoy the vast landscape of rolling hills west of Lake Müritz on the last day of your tour.

Turn in your rental bike and depart after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their homeward transportation.
