Potsdam

 Potsdam is embedded in a unique cultural landscape. These include the world-famous palaces and gardens, the historic quarters, the Biosphere and Volkspark, and the Bornstedt crown estate.

Potsdam is known worldwide for its historical heritage as the residence of the German emperors. The city encompasses Germany's largest contiguous cultural heritage with around twenty Prussian palaces and parks, which were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List after the fall of communism in 1990.

Brandenburg an der Havel

Brandenburg an der Havel is considered the birthplace of the Mark Brandenburg. The city looks back on more than 1000 years of history. The historical Old Town, the New Town and the Dominsel with their outstanding monuments are testimony to the changing history of the country and the city. Brandenburg is a city on the water. It is located in the largest contiguous European inland water sports area of the “Potsdam and Brandenburg Havel Lakes. ” Water sports enthusiasts, anglers as well as cycling and hiking enthusiasts will find numerous opportunities to relax actively.

 

Groß Behnitz

The district southwest of Nauen was first mentioned in documents in 1173. Groß Behnitz is one of the largest landscape parks in Havelland, preserved in their original form. The public, approx. 30 hectares of park, accessible all around the lake, is the last of an ice age chain of lakes. Since 1966, it has been listed as a monument. Also worth seeing is the railway station built in the 1870s with a classicist station building, goods shed, water tower, line guard house and interlocking.

Oranienburg
