Itinerary

You will arrive in the oldest town in East Frisia – the town of Norden. Today, you will have the opportunity to relax, explore the hotel facilities or discover the town centre on a walk. End the day peacefully with a good meal and look forward to the days ahead.

The information meeting and bike distribution (if booked) take place at 8:30 a.m. You can decide for yourself whether you want to have breakfast before or after. Well fed and informed, you can start your first cycling stage. Cycling along the dyke, you will reach the 600-year-old fishing village of Greetsiel and continue on to the Pilsum lighthouse. Cycling through the inland, you will reach Eilsum with its 36-metre-high bell tower. The route then takes you back north via the Wirdumer Altendeich.

Visit the island of Norderney today (ferry included) and unwind. Alternatively, the town of Norden also has plenty to offer, e.g. the tea museum, the museum railway or a trip to the seal breeding station in Norddeich.

You cycle first to the pirate's nest of the Störtebeker and on to Münkeboe, where you can gain an insight into the life and work of the inhabitants of a small moorland village 100 years ago in the Dörpmuseum. You reach Lütetsburg via Berumerfehn and Hage. The castle park is one of the largest and most beautiful in northern Germany, where you can round off the day in the castle park café.

From Norddeich you cycle along the East Frisian North Sea coast: possibility to discover Baltrum by ferry (not included, see note) or alternatively enjoy typical East Frisian tea and homemade cake (included) in Dornum.

The ferry to Baltrum is tide-dependent, so it is only clear at the time of booking whether a visit to Baltrum is possible. We are happy to take care of the booking, approx. € 33,- per person. It is also possible to cycle to the pier on the day of travel and then decide which alternative to cycle.

After breakfast, individual return journey or start of your extension.

Easy - all routes are mostly flat! Cycling is mostly on tarmac or paved farm tracks, occasionally on small side roads. The routes are also ideal for beginners and cycle groups.
