Itinerary

From 2 P.M. embarkation in Amsterdam (centre). Explore downtown Amsterdam: time for shopping, to visit a museum or to make a canal tour (reduced tickets available on board, until 10 pm): this is an unique way to see the capital of Holland from another side.

A breakfast cruise to Breukelen and first bike tour along the beautiful windingriver Vecht. Along this river you will see very nice villas, cottages and small castles. You will follow the Vecht into the centre of Utrecht with its Dom (Cathedral) tower, 111 m. high. In the afternoon: continue by ship from Utrecht to Rotterdam. In the evening: a (free) short city tour.

Cycling tour for example via “jenever-city” Schiedam and through the Delfland to Delft. Visit the beautiful city centre with it’s beautiful canals, picturesque streets, bridges and alleys. For many guests a visit to the Delftware factories “Royal Delft” is one of the highlights of the tour. “Dinner cruise” from Rotterdam to Dordrecht. Arrival around 8 P.M. In the evening short city walk (free).

Today you can either cycle or take the “water bus” to Alblasserdam in around 40 minutes. From here it is only a few minutes by bike to Kinderdijk (UNESCO World Heritage Site, with 19 large windmills standing in a row). Afterwards, you can choose between a longer cycle tour with a visit to the beautiful cheese town of Gouda or a shorter tour through the Alblasserwaard polder. Both tours end in the silver town of Schoonhoven, where you can visit a silversmith.

*On some departures, it is not possible to spend the night in Schoonhoven on day 4. Instead, the ship docks in the cheese town of Gouda. All cycling highlights remain in the program.

Cycle tour from Schoonhoven through the beautiful “Green Heart” via Oudewater (visit the Witches Weigh House) to Utrecht. Near Oudewater you can visit a traditional cheese farm, where you can also buy deilcious farm-made cheese.  In the late afternoon, the ship will bring you from Utrecht to Beverwijk. In the evening live music on board.

Today offers 2 bike tours, both leading to Haarlem: the longer tour leads through the dunes via Bloemendaal and Zandvoort and along the North Sea coast; the shorter tour goes through the inland to Haarlem. Both tours return to Beverwijk. In the evening your ship will sail to Zaandam.

From Zaandam you will cycle to the open air museum „Zaanse Schans“ (a.o. traditional wooden houses, windmills, cheese farm and wooden shoe „clog“ manufacturing). Continue bike tour through recreational area „Twiske“ to Amsterdam. Afternoon and evening in Amsterdam. If you didn’t go for a canal tour on the First day, you will have the opportunity to do it today.

End of your tour: Disembarkation after breakfast until 9.30 AM.

On the day of arrival, you can leave your luggage on board the ship from 11:00 am.

Disembarkation: After breakfast until 09:30 a.m.
The rental bikes on board are unisex bikes with a low step-through frame, allowing you to ride in an upright and comfortable position. With these sturdy and reliable bikes, you can cover many kilometers with ease. Decide which type of bike you would like to rent when booking. Also indicate your height so that we can provide you with a suitable bike. For most of our tours, bike hire is not included in the price as standard.

Cycle tours: Individual and unguided. The bike routes are determined by the possible route of the sailor. All kilometers mentioned are approximate distances of the recommended bike tours.

Cycle routes/level of difficulty: The large number of cycle paths make Holland a paradise for cyclists. The routes are flat and can be classified as easy.

Vacation luggage: We recommend good rainwear, a cycling helmet, sun hat and sports shoes.

Timetable and program changes: Subject to change without notice. If, for example, a route cannot be sailed due to low water, high water or bad weather, the skipper reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a reason for withdrawal free of charge). In the event of bad weather, it may not be possible to sail to the West Frisian islands of Texel and Terschelling. Your ship will then take an alternative route around the IJsselmeer. In calm or unfavorable winds, your ship will also sail under engine power.

Travel documents: EU nationals (with no special circumstances, e.g. dual nationality, primary residence abroad or provisionally issued travel documents) require a valid identity card or passport for this trip, which must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. If you have another nationality or several nationalities or if you have to comply with special legal regulations, please contact your local consulate for information on the relevant visa and entry requirements. - This trip is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
