Itinerary

Individual arrival to Souillac. Handover of the route book and maps.

Idyllic landscape of the Perigord, with a visit to the ‘Jardin d'Eyrignac’ garden, before continuing by bike to Salignac. Visit Salignac with its medieval houses and castle. Cycle at a leisurely pace to Tamniès.

Discover the typical and romantic village of Saint Géniès before immersing yourself in the Vézere valley and its prehistoric past: Roque-St-Christophe with its many rock caves, grottos, rocky cliffs, Font de Gaume and its numerous depictions of animals. The day's destination is Les-Eyzies-de-Tayac, the centre of prehistory.

This day is dedicated to visiting the many prehistoric caves. The national museum of the Stone Age is also well worth a visit. A hike along the bed of the Vézère river takes you to the charming little town of Bugue, which has many places to visit.

You leave the picturesque valley of Beaune and cycle on through the rich countryside to Sarlat, the largest medieval town in Europe! A jewel of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Visit before continuing to Vitrac.

Not far from here are some very interesting castles that are well worth a visit. Just follow the Dordogne. The romantic villages of Beynac, La Roque Gageac and Domme, which is one of the most beautiful villages in France, are a must-see.

A very pleasant route along the banks of the Dordogne, with the opportunity to visit the castles of Montfort and Fénelon.

After breakfast, individual return journey or start of your extension.
