Arrival to Saint Malo
Individual arrival to the former pirates and corsair city Malo. Bicycle hand-out (if booked) and a first bretonic meal.
You cycle along the river Rance and get to Dinan. With its intact city wall and many half-timbered houses, Dinan is one of the most beautiful villages in Brittany.
Today, your way guides you along the towpath of the Rance passing the abbey of Léon to Combourg. Its also called the "cradle of ramance". The French writer Chateaubriand spend many years in the castle of Combourg.
You cycle through beautiful pasture and stream landscape to Fougères. There is a lovely, well preserved castle complex from the 12th century. The city lies on the top of the mountain, whereas the castle was built in the valley.
Slowly, you get closer to the coast. You cycle through deep forests, canyons and magnificent landscape just to Pontorson. The river Cousnon accompanies you to the city, which is close to the rock abbey Mont St. Michel.
Today the famous rock abbey Mont St Michel awaits your visit. Afterwards, you cycle to the pictorial habour city Cancale, a centre of oyster fishing. Accommadtion in Pontorson.
Along the cliff Point du Grouin, you can observe the hatcheries of thousands of birds. Via several suburbs, you get back to Saint Malo.
After breakfast you start your individual journey home or start your holiday extension.
