The ‘Boucle des Capitelles’ takes you along quiet country lanes through the varied landscape of the Uzège. The route leads to some of the region’s most charming villages. The historic houses and narrow alleyways of these villages reflect the authentic character of the south of France. The landscape is characterised by dry stone walls, lavender, thyme and vineyards. Time and again, magnificent panoramic views open up across the Uzège as far as the Cévennes. The small villages, with their natural stone houses, shaded squares and Romanesque churches, invite you to take short breaks and explore off the main roads.

This tour takes you to one of the most impressive structures of the ancient world. The first stop is the picturesque village of Collias, idyllically situated on the banks of the Gardon. If you’d like to combine the tour with a special experience, you can hire a canoe here and paddle down to the Pont du Gard. The journey through the stunning river landscape is one of the most beautiful canoe trips in the south of France and offers a unique view of the Roman aqueduct. The route continues by bike along quiet roads to the Pont du Gard. The aqueduct, which is almost 2,000 years old and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, impresses with its monumental architecture.  A break on the riverbank or a stroll around the structure are among the highlights of this tour.

This circular tour combines the tranquil beauty of Occitan Provence with lively market towns and unspoilt villages. Vineyards, fields and sparse woodland alternate, repeatedly offering magnificent views of the rolling hills of the Gard. A first highlight is the idyllically situated Solan Convent. The nuns manage the convent’s estate according to organic principles. You then reach Bagnols-sur-Cèze, a lively little town on the banks of the Cèze. The historic old town, with its shaded squares, shops and cafés, invites you to stroll around and linger. Mediterranean flair and the southern French way of life accompany you on this section of the tour.

This circular route takes you into the unspoilt hinterland of Provence-Occitanie. The route winds through a tranquil, sparsely populated cultural landscape characterised by dry stone walls, oak forests and Mediterranean herbs. The tranquillity of this region is what makes the tour so special. A highlight is the village of Lussan, situated on a limestone plateau. With its narrow streets, well-preserved stone houses and sweeping panoramic views across the Gard plain, it is one of the most beautiful villages in the region.
 

Today’s route takes you into the famous wine-growing region of the southern Côtes du Rhône. After cycling up gentle slopes, you’ll first reach Tavel, a town known worldwide for its distinctive rosé wine. Numerous wineries invite you to discover the regional wines. The route continues to Lirac, whose vineyards are also part of the renowned Côtes-du-Rhône appellations. From there, you’ll head to Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in the area. The imposing fortified church and the well-preserved town walls bear witness to the village’s eventful history. The return route takes you via Saint-Victor-la-Coste, with its historic alleyways and the castle ruins on the hill above the village.
 

Passing through the picturesque village of Saint-Siffret, you’ll reach Vers-Pont-du-Gard. The majestic Pont du Gard comes into view from afar. The route then takes you through Cabrières, a small wine-growing village with a typical southern French character, before you reach Collias. Shady plane trees, small cafés and the river’s proximity invite you to take a relaxing break.
Finally, the route takes you to Uzès, France’s first ducal town. The medieval alleyways, the elegant Place aux Herbes with its arcades, and numerous cafés, boutiques and restaurants lend the town a distinctive charm. From there, it is just a few kilometres back to Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie.
