Itinerary

Trier was founded in 16 BC : Enjoy Porta Nigra, Electoral Price Palais, Emperor’s Thermal Spa, Roman aula or the amphitheatre.

Always on the river edge, past Schweich (old ferry tower), you encounter again and again monuments of the Roman past (villa Rustika, Roman water pipelines, Roman boat, Roman winepress). Then you cycle through Trittenheimer Moselle bend and reach Bernkstel-Kues (old town with many half-timbered houses, first settlements already during Early-Stone-Age, Moselle wine museum).

Your tour leads you to Traben Trarbach, centre of art-nouveau. On your way to Enkirch we recommend a wine tasting in a traditional pub.

The last 6 km you cycle on the edge of Moselle to German Corner (joining of the rivers Moselle and Rhine) in the centre of Koblenz (fortress Ehrenbreitstein, Prince-Electoral castle, Moselle and Rhine promenade, lively old town).

After breakfast, individual return journey or start of your extension.

The route runs mainly along the banks of the river and is easy to cycle with only a few gentle climbs. Therefore, this cycle tour is also ideal for inexperienced cyclists.

Travel to Trier by train or car.
Hotel car parks and some garage parking spaces are available. Per day € 10,00 up to € 18,00. Detailed information in the travel documents.
Return bus transfer from Koblenz to Trier: daily at approx. 9.00 a.m., duration approx. 2 hours, € 95,00 per person. We charge € 45,00 extra for the return transport of your own bike. Booking required.
