Lake Garda Round Trip charm

Arrival at Lake Garda in Desenzano, tour information and bike handover (if booked) in the late afternoon. A first evening stroll in the old town centre is a good idea.

Gently undulating, you cycle through the Lugana wine-growing region to the banks of the Mincio. This river takes you to the historic fortress of Peschiera and back to Lake Garda. For a few kilometres, the cycle path runs directly along the lakeshore and later takes you a little further inland. You cycle through apple orchards and the vineyards of Bardolino back to the shore, which you follow under shady pine trees to the charming lakeside town of Garda.

You leave the shore in the direction of the Adige Valley. Here you can once again enjoy marvellous views over the lake and follow the cycle route through olive groves and vineyards. You then cycle leisurely northwards along the Adige cycle path, always accompanied by countless fruit trees. You leave the river again in Mori and cycle over the Passo san Giovanni to Torbole or on to Riva. Shortly before you reach Lake Garda again, you are treated to another breathtaking view over the lake and the Sarca Valley.

One of the largest rivers in the Trentino is the river Sarca. You follow it along a best-designed cycle path from Torbole into the valley until Pietramurata. The village is surrounded by the highest Lake Garda mountainsides and offers a fantastic view. Enjoy the quiet in this nature park and visit the fortress in Arco before you reach the shores of Lake Garda again.

In the morning a transfer takes you up to Lake Ledro. You follow the same-named valley to the next picturesque alpine lake. Lake Idro is your companion for a while. You will be delighted by its outstanding water quality and its marvellous mountain panorama. Along the cycle path through the Val Sabbia-valley you then always cycle slightly downhill until the mighty Lake Garda opens up in front of you again. In Salò stroll along the flower-adorned promenade and enjoy a smooth Gelato.

The final cycle stage leads you on gently hilly terrain slightly into the hinterland. Here the characteristic and historic wines of Lake Garda such as the Lugana, Chiaretto and Groppello are pressed here. Once you have reached the starting point of your holiday at the latest, we recommend you raise a glass of one of these types of wines and toast to a wonderful and eventful cycling holiday.
