Our travel fair season kicks off right in January. But what exactly is a travel fair, and what benefits does it offer both visitors and exhibitors?

From our perspective—that of a tour operator—travel fairs are ideal events for staying up to date, making new contacts, and discovering innovations. A travel fair is a place where various players in the tourism industry and related sectors come together, such as tour operators, airlines, hotel chains, and travelers themselves.

Travelers have the opportunity to gather many new impressions in a single day, pursue their interests, explore them more deeply, and let completely new possibilities unfold before them.

Given the large number of trade shows held in Germany each year, it is impossible to attend every single one. As a cycling tour operator, we are in the midst of our peak season during the summer months and focus on ensuring the smooth operation of our active tours and providing excellent customer service; therefore, the winter months are the ideal time to attend trade shows in addition to preparing for the upcoming season.

Review 2025: Touristik & Caravaning Leipzig

We will once again be participating in the Leipzig Travel Fair from November 19–23, 2025. Whether traveling individually or in a group, by water, in a tent, or by bike: approximately 500 regional and (inter)national exhibitors took their places across 60,000 square meters to participate in Central Germany’s largest travel fair. Our staff received plenty of visitors, were on hand to offer advice, and had many stimulating conversations. Some bookings were taken directly and forwarded to our colleagues at the Oldenburg office for further processing. In addition, we distributed a large number of our newly printed catalogs for the 2024 season. In conclusion, the Leipzig trade fair was a complete success and has us considering participating again this year.

CMT Stuttgart

Our trade show season kicks off right in January, and you’ll have the chance to visit us at the CMT in Stuttgart from January 17 to 19, 2026. During this time, we’ll be focusing particularly on cycling and hiking tours. You’ll find us in Hall 9, Booth No. 9D11.

Reisen (Travel) & Caravaning Hamburg

Reisen & Caravaning Hamburg is one of the largest travel fairs in northern Germany. The specialized exhibition areas offer a wide variety of attractions related to tourism, caravanning, cycling, cruises, and leisure. You can find us from February 5–8, 2026, in Hall B7, Booth No. 343.

ITB Berlin

Since 1966, the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) Berlin has been regarded as the leading trade fair for the global tourism industry. This year, the management team at Rückenwind Reisen will once again be attending to discover new offerings and nurture business relationships. At ITB, our partners from the EUROFUN Group will be gathering, giving them the opportunity to discuss the upcoming season.

Hello Bike (Hallo Fahrrad) - All about cycling in the city centre of Oldenburg

This year’s Bike Day in Oldenburg will take place on April 12, 2026. On this day, the most popular mode of transportation will take center stage at the Rathausmarkt, drawing in cycling enthusiasts. As a passionate Oldenburg-based cycling tour operator, we are of course eager to support this event. You can find us at our booth between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Die ADFC-Radreiseanalyse
Seit 1999 liefert die ADFC-Radreiseanalyse Daten über eine bundesweite Umfrage zum Fahrradtourismus in Deutschland. Diese Radreiseanalyse untersucht diverse Faktoren wie zum Beispiel das Verhalten der Radreisenden. Wie informieren Sie sich vor oder während der Reise? Was sind die beliebtesten Reiseziele? Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei vor allem Fragen in Bezug auf das Reiseverhalten. Welcher Radweg ist besonders beliebt? Wie reisen die meisten Gäste? Individuell oder lieber organisiert von einem Veranstalter. In Zusammenarbeit mit einem Marktforschungsinstitut werden im Rahmen einer Online-Befragung rund 10.000 Personen befragt.
