The beautiful Alsace

Gastronomy and wine are the hallmarks of Alsace. Today, this region has one more asset: its exceptional infrastructure of bicycle paths, which has made it one of the most beautiful cycling destinations in France. From Strasbourg to Colmar, typical villages and quiet paths through the vineyards will allow you to discover and appreciate an exceptional nature, where tradition and history have endured.

Itinerary

Arrival in Strasbourg, installation in the hotel and free time to explore the town, its sumptuous Gothic cathedral and its downtown area classified as a Worldz Heritage Site.

The Bruche Canal was once used to transport wine from the wineries to the Alsatian capital. Today, the cycle path runs along the canal from Strasbourg to Molsheim. You will pass by the Roman church of Rosheim, dating from the 12th century, before staying in Obernai or Andlau.

On paved roads, you cross the vineyards and villages with half-timbered houses where geraniums bloom.
Mittelbergheim, Dambach-la-Ville, Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr are among the most beautiful villages in
France. Each one offers numerous possibilities for visits dedicated to biodiversity, culture and local folk arts
and traditions.

The Wine Route and its string of villages will lead you from the vineyards to the wine and art capital of
Alsace. Along the way, Turckheim and Eguisheim will complete your discovery of Alsace like a postcard. In
Colmar, home of sculptor Bartholdi, the father of the Statue of Liberty, stroll through an exceptionally wellpreserved historic center and visit the Unterlinden Museum, which houses the works of Rhenish
Renaissance genius painters Martin Schongauer and Matthias Grünewald.

After breakfast, individual return journey or start of your extension.
