You start your tour in Constance, Lake Constance’s biggest town. 600 years ago this was where the Council of Constance took place, the only council to elect a pope that was held north of the Alps. The Rhine leaves Lake Constance here: 0 kilometres on its way to the North Sea. Only a few minutes by foot from the medieval town centre is the Swiss town of Kreuzlingen with its lively harbour.

Passing the old imperial- and todays spa-town Radolfzell - you cycle via Bodanrück to the Lake Überlinger See and its town of the same name.
Überlingen – Kressbronn / Nonnenhorn, approx. 50 – 55 km (cat B) Überlingen – Wasserburg / Lindau, approx. 50 / 60 km (cat A)
You will see the baroque pilgrims church Birnau and the old city of Meersburg on your way to Friedrichshafen. In Nonnenhorn you reach the old Bavarian boarder. Your overnight stay is in the region of Kressbronn.
Kressbronn – Höchst / Rorschach, approx. 40 / 50 km (cat B) Lindau – Arbon, approx. 50 km (cat A)
Today you cycle to Lindau and Bregenz, which is famous for its annual festivals on the biggest outdoor stage of the world (located on the Lake). Afterwards you cross the Rhine delta – an important nature reserve. Your overnight stay is in the region of Höchst/Rorschach.
Today your tour takes you through Romanshorn which is home to Switzerland's largest harbour on Lake Constance. Now you continue on along the banks of Lake Constance back to Constance. Wander through the old town or enjoy an ice cream.
Passing pittoresque Swiss fishing villages along the south bank of Lake Untersee you cycle to Stein on Rhine and further on to Schaffhausen.
Excursion to the Rhine waterfalls, then on the other side of the Rhine back to Stein on Rhine. Along the river Höri to Gaienhofen, where you take the boat to the island Reichenau and back to Constance.
After breakfast, you start your individual return journey home or extend your stay.
The Lake Constance bicycle path is splendidly constructed and runs along the lake shore, partly on side roads with wonderful views. It is a reduced-traffic route. All the hotels are located next to the bicycle path.
