Individual arrival to Meiningen. Your hotel is situated in the historical theater city of Meiningen. A wonderful starting point of this tour. Take a stroll through the beautiful old town.
Let´s go! Follow the river Werra past the Wasungen with its defence wall and the half-timbered old town to Bad Salzungen. Enjoy the old town of Bad Salzungen.
You ride through the Thuringia Forest and along the Rhön. Enjoy a pause in the historical old town of Vacha. You cycle past Heringen to Dankmarshausen. Overnight in Dankmarshausen/Obersuhl.
A lot of lakes an nature reserve edge your way along the river Werra to Eisenach. Take time to visit the "Wartburg" and the place of activities of Bach and Luther.
You cycle through a wonderful low mountain rage landscape, past the vertically chalk cliff and medieval villages and towns. Enjoy in Creuzburg, Treffurt and Eschwege the charming half-timbered houses. Overnight in Eschwege.
Art along the bike path. Sculptures of well-known artist edge the riverside of the Werra-Meissner-Land. Enjoy a pause in Bad Sooden-Allendorf and have a baths in the saltwater spa. Through the land of cherries you cycle past Witzenhausen to Hann. Münden.

The Werratal Bike Path is mostly on country lanes and side roads with light traffic and with a few height difference.

Parking/arrival and departure
- Good arrival by train to Meiningen.
- Parking at the starting hotel: free of charge on the parking deck or in the underground car park for € 5,- per day (subject to availability, no reservation possible, payable on site).
- Return transfer (only on Saturdays, 2 persons or more) possible by minibus, duration approx. 3 hours, price € 109,- per person. For the return transport of your own bike we charge € 40,- extra. Reservation required.
