Mallorca round trip

The essentials at a glance

Discover Mallorca on this moderately difficult cycling tour through diverse landscapes. Cycle along the coast to the famous Es Trenc beach, explore the Dragon Caves near Porto Cristo, and visit the botanical garden at Ses Salines. The route leads through charming fishing villages, past salt lakes, and through olive groves to the wine region of Binissalem. Stay in 4-star hotels and a rural finca-style hotel. Daily distances average 35-65 km on side roads and cycle paths.

Well known island with unknown sides.

You can explore the island in a different way on the big tour around Mallorca, far away from the wild parties and crowded beaches. Dreamlike bays, unspoiled beaches and charming fishing villages without the tourist crowds: all this makes a holiday on two wheels across Spain’s most popular holiday island a special experience.

Those who love the sound of the sea, coupled with a fresh breeze and wonderful southern warmth are on the right track on Mallorca’s cycle paths! So much is clear: this cycle tour is a true all-rounder, because culture, exercise and enjoyment are all included. And happiness is guaranteed!

Itinerary

Any changes in the course of the trip (especially on the first two bike stages) must be reserved in February and March due to hotels till closed!

Take a taxi from the airport to your first hotel in Playa de Palma (approx. 10 km).

Welcome reception and discussion of the tour. Your first stage will take you along the coast to Capocorp Vell, the Realm of the Cyclops (remnants of the native inhabitant dwellings). Typical wind mills line the way to the salt fields of Llevant with its pink and white shimmering salt lakes. In Sant Jordi, sandy beaches with crystal clear water are awaiting you.

Today, you will cycle through Ses Salines to a botanical garden and visit the picturesque bay of Cala Santanyi. Later, you will continue your journey through small fishing villages to the famous natural bridge “Es Pontas”. At Porto Cristo you will discover the Dragon Caves with their bizarre images and shapes.

On the fourth day, you will cycle through the sedate village of Son Carrio to Manacor, the city of the Majorcan beads and pottery. Afterwards, your journey will take you through Petra (typical Majorcan lunch snack will be prepared) and Santa Margalida and through one of the most charming landscapes of the island to C’an Picafort.

You do not need to pack your suitcase today. You will stay for another night in C’an Picafort. Today’s tour will take you through a bird park (nature reserve) to the Bay of Pollensa (Roman port). Later, you will continue along the coast to Alcúdia (oldest city of the island) and back to C’an Picafort.

Today's stage takes you around the approximately 300-metre-high Puig de Inca. Cycling through orange groves and olive orchards, you will pass numerous Mallorcan villages with their typical stone walls and village squares, which invite you to linger. Be sure to stop off at the wine-growing village of Binissalem. This is where Mallorca's most famous wines are produced and can be tasted in various bodegas.

A day full of contrasts. The cycle tour begins in the rural hinterland and leads through sleepy little villages. Once you reach the coast again, the island comes to life with the typical hustle and bustle of Playa de Palma. A wide range of restaurants and leisure activities ensures an entertaining end to this impressive journey.

After breakfast, individual return journey to your home town or start of your extension stay.

Tour character

Moderate

The stages are moderately difficult: some climbs are followed by marvellous descents, more difficult sections are bridged by bus. You cycle on side roads, farm tracks and also some ‘beaten tracks’, always with as little traffic as possible. A good level of fitness or an e-bike are recommended.
